the ups-and-downs and sides-to-sides of the little things that make up life
The Beauty of Pirate Ships by Chris Brogan is a great, well written piece. I for one, am excited to see people throw away excuses, get down to business and get things done.
While the piece is a great analogy, you shouldn’t need to get hungry. You should always be hungry. The moment you need to “get” hungry is the moment you’ve lost it. It’s the moment you’ve burned out. And more importantly, it’s the moment you’ve stopped fighting.
If your goal doesn’t make you hungry, then it’s worthless. You’ve chosen the wrong one. Whatever goal you pick, you should be willing to claw your way inch by inch towards it. As Brogan says, “Set your goal on FIRE. Make it a blazing beacon that guides you.”
If you’re not hungry, if your goal isn’t on fire, you’re going to lose to the person who is hungry. For that person, losing is never an option.
